Oushak (or Ushak) rugs generally have floral and/or semi-geometrical spread-out patterns, frequently with larger motifs and details, using fine , silky and lustrous wools with softer colors or tints like muted red, terracotta, rusts, browns, buttery gold, cabbage or soft mossy green, aqua, gray, pottery or baby blues, ivory, etc. They originated in Turkey centuries ago but are now being produced in hand-knotted constructions in India and Pakistan and in machine-made versions in Egypt, Belgium and other places.
